Send Sarah to Kenya Cookbook Mmmm!

Greetings Everyone!

Most of you know I love to bake and cook and everyone knows that any celebration or gathering (and I include small groups as in you and I sitting together as a gathering) requires something delicious to nibble on amongst the conversation. So...I decided that a cookbook fundraiser would be an amazing way to share my love for cooking and eating while helping raise funds.  I will Blog some sample pages soon, but I know it will include my famous Brochetta, Gingerbread, Turkey, Sheppard's Pie, Mash Potatoes, Supped Up Bran Muffins, Cereal Bars, Sugar Cookies, Brie Appetizer, and many more.  Don't be embaressed, I'm drooling writing it! :)  Here are the following ways you can help:

1. Donate a Recipe (Your name will be credited and again expect a personalized thank you!)
2. Buy a cookbook for $15
3. Help sell cookbooks

Please email me the # of copies you would like to purchase, the recipes you would like to donate including which category it fits into (Salad, Appetizers, Main Dish, or Dessert), and how you might help sell the cookbooks.  Thank you again for your continued support with this initiative. I am hoping to have the cookbook written by early May so look forward to it then. :)

Thanks for Reading!

The Wine Raffle--Yes, You Read It & Want to Buy Up

Greetings Thirsty Friends,

Now I realize the irony of me, Sarah the Pomtini Queen, selling wine raffle tickets, but I assure you it was a group decision and effort and being a good team player I am doing my part.  For the rest of the civilized world that enjoys wine (until discovering Pomtinis) here is a unique fundraiser which you can be a part of.  You can purchase Wine Raffle Tickets from myself for $10 (one ticket) OR, wait for it, $25 (for three tickets).  Now I don't mean to brag, but I have been known to sell winning tickets in the past, and have a good feeling about the set I have in my Zip Lock just waiting to have your name written all over it. :)

The prize packs include up to 15 bottles of wine (minimum prize is 5) and includes gourmet chocolate and crackers in a beautiful basket. Anyone wanting to get rid of the basket let me know that's what I want to win. (Honestly!).  The draw will be held on June 12, 2011, and when* you win I will personally deliver your winnings. What more could you want?  Please email me with the # of tickets you would like to purchase or if you would like to help me in selling that would be wonderful as well.  Thanks so much for your support through this fundraiser!

Thank You For Reading!
Sarah

*I cannot guarentee you win, but I do wish you the best of luck. :)

How Did Sarah End Up with a Ticket to Kenya?

Greetings Everyone!

As many of you know, my heart has long been in Africa from my love of music, food, history, and people in general.  For the last couple of years I have felt this desire to go to Africa, but for whatever reason it did not come to pass until now.  My love took me to Teachers Helping Teachers (THT)  and after reading a mass email through the school board. I found myself googling on my little Acer laptop late one night to check it all out and a  few clicks later I was invisioning my summer in Kenya surrounded by the warm African sun and learning from the Maasai people while working with the teaching staff and students.

The purpose of this Blog is to catologue my excitement and fundraising ambitions up to the trip in July followed by photo sharing and blogging about the events that will take place.  I commit to anyone who helps my fundraising ambitions a personalized thank you note (I know it sounds lame, but trust me the world has forgotten to say thank you and this little teacher does what she preaches to her Gr. 7's) so look forward to some personalized mail.  Likewise you will have access to great one of a kind items like an original cookbook (in the process of being written) and once I return an event in August like no other with Kenyan Door Prizes and a photo slideshow and gathering of wonderful people in the heart of Toronto.  I know you are wondering how you might resist. :)  Don't worry there will be plenty of time to help! Click on the next Blog to read the various events taking place to help fundraise.
